“Yoga makes learning fun! The poses increaseflexibility and coordination, challenge imagination and enhance respect for Nature.” – Dr. Deepak Chopra.

Yoga prepares children for the challenges of life.  “The children’s confidence grows as they learn new poses at their own pace without being judged by others.”

It improves focus,  channels energy, develops self-awareness,  self-esteem, confidence, and postures children for success in all life endeavors!
Develops a sense of presence that is exhibited by their posture, eye contact, and even natured approach to all life situations.  It nutures a calm, non-emotional personality.

At the Muskegon Yoga Center we take a creative, entertaining way to introduce children ages 3-10 to the joy ofexercise and the wonder of nature. This class encourages kids to stretch like dogs and roar like lions The session has everything a yoga practice for this age group should have – a nice selection of accessible postures, several breathing exercises and concludes with relaxation and meditation.

Yoga for kids awakens the vision within. They stand tall as a mountain and listen to the sounds of the world. When they learn basic yoga postures like mountain posture, they develop there own hatha yoga practice. Best of all, kids yoga connects them with their inner-self (the part that loves to smile). All that is needed is the right intention.

Yoga basics for kids: mountain pose  One of the most important yoga postures for kids is called mountain pose. Mountain posture is important because it's the base for all other yoga postures. It straightens your spine like a ruler and aligns your pelvis at the center of your body.
When you stand in mountain pose is like pressing the re-set button on your posture.
Think about a mountain. They are tall and wide.
Mountain posture might look easy, but it requires stillness, focus, and strength. Are you ready to try?
