Johnson Women's Gentle Yoga: This class is sponsored by the Johnson Family Cancer Center. It is an exciting new tool-kit in the arsenal for the treatment and prevention of cancer. These classes are available to any and all women who are either engaged in the battle with cancer, or, who have had cancer previously.
Beginning Yoga: Hatha Yoga with a very traditional and methodical sequence that traces back over 5 thousand years and teaches the 5 elements of yoga that include:
Yoga postures/excercise (asanas)
Breathing practices (pranayama)
Relaxation
Introduction to proper diet
Introduction to positive thinking and meditation
Hot Yoga: Hot Yoga is a series of yoga poses and two breathing exercises designed to provide a challenging, invigorating and rejuvenating yoga practice done in a heated room. Be prepared to sweat and receive amazing benefits. Bring a mat, bath-sized towel, and a bottle of water (mat and water are available for rent or sale if needed). Wear leotards, shorts or a bathing suit. Come well hydrated and with an empty stomach.
All Levels Yoga: Open to all levels of yoga students. We offer guided instruction in the hatha yoga practice, following the 5 points for health & inner peace; proper exercise, proper breathing, proper relaxation, proper diet, positive thinking, and meditation. This is a fun class that is sure to leave your mind relaxed and calm and your body loose and tension free. The level and sequence of the postures are in accordance with the energy of the class.
Mommy & Baby Yoga: First and foremost, congratulations! You have completed the most sacred achievement possible in life-you have given life. Your miraculous mind, body and spirit have guided you through this wonderful journey. Mother/Baby Yoga is a simple but deeply enriching way to take care of yourself and expand your bond with your baby. Mother/Baby Yoga is a gentle yoga practiced with your baby. This special class designed for mother and baby will respect the special demands put on the body of a new mother. Your baby will be held in your arms, lying next to you, leaning up against you or atop your belly. Your baby will enjoy a soothing full body massage at the end of your practice. Just wait till you see how much your baby loves doing Yoga with you! The Mother/Baby class is designed for beginners as well as mothers who have been practicing yoga previously.
